I am very satisfied with the modern standard Arabic classes I took with Nosseir. He tailored them to my specific needs and interests, be it political, economic or cultural topics. In conversation classes, he got a conversation going that challenged me to learn and use new vocabulary, but without interrupting the conversation too much. In translation exercises, he provided excellent advice on translating standard expressions (e.g. in press releases) or complex sentences from English to Arabic or vice versa. What I really appreciate is his ability to find the right level of difficulty so that I learn a lot, but do not get overwhelmed.

I highly recommend Abdallah Nosseir as an Arabic language teacher. I have studied with him both in person in Cairo and remotely via Skype. He is quick to respond to requests and has proven to me to be very willing to adapt the lessons to suit my needs. He helped me learn business jargon in Arabic and to converse using legal and human rights terminology. He always came to the lessons prepared - he would read the business pages of Egyptian dailies to pick topics that we could talk about, and would actively look for human rights topics and press releases we could discuss. I started from zero with Nosseir and after just 2 lessons, I was able to recognize a lot of words in spoken Egyptian Arabic and to communicate in easy and standard everyday situations. He knows perfectly how to explain complex grammatical phenomenons in a comprehensible way and adapts his lessons to the individual speed and needs of the student. He integrates, if you want, elements which go far beyond the classical teaching situation, p.ex. strolling around in Cairo for practicing what you just learned, cultural and philosophical discussions. Nosseir is a dedicated and adaptable teacher. Whereas many language teachers around Cairo have set in their minds what you're supposed to learn and what order you're supposed to learn it, Nosseir tailors his lessons and teaching style to suite you. That isn't to say he let's you dictate class. You can trust him to balance your substantive interests with his pedagogical experience to make sure that you learn the Arabic you need, but with a solid foundation so that you can keep learning. Also, he is trustworthy. He keeps meticulous track of the hours you spend in class so that you don't overpay, and he is careful to delivers what he promises.

If you are looking to learn Arabic by laboriously working through a boring textbook, then Nosseir is not the teacher for you. His lessons are fun, dynamic and engaging. He challenges you, makes you think and teaches you about Egyptian culture as you go. His method of getting you conversing in Arabic, using the words he has taught you, (and with proper pronunciation!), is really rewarding and rapidly builds your confidence to go out and use Arabic as much as you can in your day-to-day life, which is what it's all about. I could not recommend Nosseir more highly as an Arabic teacher.

If you're looking for a very good and thoroughly reliable teacher, then Nosseir is the man for you. He's taught Arabic to non-native speakers for over a decade, and so knows exactly how to go about pushing, prodding and cajoling students to improve their vocab, grammar, understanding etc.. Nosseir is an amazing Arabic teacher. He is incredibly responsive to the way you learn and will literally tailor his teaching style to make sure you get the most out of every class. He remembers the vocabulary he teaches you and re-uses it at the beginning of every class, slowly but surely increasing the grammatical complexity of the sentences in a way that builds your confidence while also constantly making you significantly improve. You don't learn by using textbooks but he teaches in a very structured way which means you actually understand the logic of the language and are able to sometimes take (very minor) steps on your own. I honestly am incredibly happy with the work that Nosseir and I did over a couple of months and I wish I could keep learning with him. Also, as long as you give him 24 hours notice, he's flexible re: classes and hours, which is a + when you're working! I definitely recommend Nosseir, 10/10, would study with him again. Oh and Nosseir is really nice, and learning with him is fun, which is non-negligible!

Nosseir has been the best Arabic instructor I've ever had. He cares deeply about his student's growth with all aspects of the Arabic language. He also takes great care to understand your personal learning style and temperament. He spends a great deal of time trying to determine the ways his students learn best so that he can instruct in the most effective way possible. Nosseir is incredibly talented at finding the ways the motivate you and singling out your weaknesses so that they can be corrected efficiently. He is more than willing to be honest and direct with you and push you to grow. I have worked with Nossier both in-person and online, and I must say that the class quality is virtually the same. His studio and energy give the online classes a unique personal quality, making them highly effective despite the distance. I would recommend Nosseir to anyone who is genuinely interested in Arabic language growth. While Nosseir has been a great teacher, he is an even better person who's love of knowledge and his students make him a real joy to study with.

Nosseir is an excellent and extremely professional Arabic tutor. His lessons are cleverly structured to ensure all language skills are developed, but in a completely natural (and, dare I say, effortless) way. He is skilled at building confidence to speak and understand from the very earliest lessons, whilst gradually adding vocabulary and grammar alongside. His lessons are carefully tailored to the individual and I know he teaches to a range of different levels, abilities and needs, from standard Arabic to Egyptian colloquial, from absolute beginners to PhD students. He takes his role very seriously and pushes his students to achieve what he knows they are capable of, but does everything he can to support learning amidst the other demands of work and life. To this end, I have found his use of the Anki app very useful for squeezing in learning/revision into brief free moments. His recordings are tailor-made for each student and will remain a valuable tool into the future. I have had lessons in person and online, and can honestly say there is no difference. I have truly enjoyed my lessons, and would highly recommend Nosseir to anyone who is serious about learning Arabic.

Nosseir is an excellent tutor. He is dedicated and passionate. He pushes you to improve but in a very supportive way. He works extremely hard, which motivates you to put the work in. He uses the Anki app to help you practice between lessons. This is a really effective tool for improving. Nosseir is also flexible in how and when he will deliver lessons. He has taught me at my house, my office, online and even walking around a sports club. He will always put the student first when it comes to organising the teaching schedule. As well as being a brilliant teacher, Nosseir is really friendly and fun, so classes are always enjoyable. I couldn’t recommend Nosseir more highly.

Upon recommendation by a friend, I booked 10 Conversation Classes (MSA) with Nosseir during a short stay in Cairo. I had studied Arabic many years ago and had a solid basis of Fusha and Dialect, but was not very confident with regard to speaking due to lack of practice. The one-on-one classes were very helpful to rebuild my confidence and "kick-start" my Arabic speaking. The classes were taylor-made to my abilities, requests and interests. Besides, they were a lot of fun as Nosseir is a really nice and fun person to spend time with. The extra service of providing vocabulary cards via the Anki App is great and helped me to expand my vocabulary considerably in this short time. Of course, more practice and time (which is lacking at the moment unfortunately) is needed for me to reach a level of full confidence in Arabic. But I am really content with my own progress during this short amount of time - so the classes are really recommended. Thank you, ya Nosseir!
